Attachments are a form of memory and are in the past or at least the thing you were attached to is. By living more in the present, attachments fade until they disappear from your life.

Regarding the Goldilocks principle, you often see people seemimgly forcing themselves to be light hearted during trainings etc. I presume if this comes from ego it will be counter productive.
