I am inspired by my CTI project – to learn to speak Italian, which up till now, I deemed impossible because I had the wrong mind set and feelings around failure from taking beginning Italian four times. When I have some useful vocabulary and a great dose of confidence, I want to offer my Spirit Boat Making Workshops and drawing programs in Italian.

But larger than this is what will happen as I bring a new language into my life, let that percolate to see what expands from there. It can’t help but widen my world. As a teaching artist, I am aware of how the use of words and phrases can make people’s experiences deeper when I teach. My big priority of late is to create clarity around my speaking.
