I don’t believe the 3Ps encourages emotional suppression and repression.

If you feel (negative/positive) emotion, allow yourself to experience it.

From what I understand about the 3Ps, they encourage you to realise that the cause of your negative/positive (or pleasant/unpleasant) emotions is your thinking, and not any other external factor.

The world is a neutral place, things happen.

One person reacts in a happy way, another reacts in an angry way to the same event.

Each is reacting to their own thoughts about the event, not reacting directly to the actual event.

Usually, allowing yourself to experience an emotion helps you become aware of the thought creating it/the thought behind the emotion.

Being aware of that, you no longer need to let it trigger you, as thoughts are just thoughts, they are not real. Being aware of that brings deep peace.

You go from being on the roller coaster of emotion, to stepping back onto the peaceful barge floating on the flowing river of Life.
