• And… if that weren’t enough for the COINCIDENCE train…(and hell no, I’m not getting off of it)…

      Today, I was feeling down.

So after our 8am call, I decided to take 2 actions, and then go for a walk with my dog.

Action one: I contacted a publisher that was recommended to me by a girl in a bookstore I wandered into when I offered to read from my children’s books to the kids in the community.

Action two: I called a new manager to inquire about representation, but when she didn’t answer, I hung up, without leaving a message. I had decided (a made up story) that after back-and-forth calls with her for over two weeks, being unable to connect was “a sign”, and that she was not for me.

On my walk, the phone rang, it was the manager. I was not going to answer it because the environment was loud and the reception is spotty, but, having been unable to connect thus far, and with my mind (a “no”), already made up, I thought, “what the heck” , and answered.

What followed was a conversation of WOW’s and OMG’s that ended in my signing with her on the spot (which was in front of an abandoned hut, hand made by a guy who called it home for awhile, pictured below).

A few of the most astounding coincidences:

I coached her daughter when she was young.

She still represents some of the kids I referred to her company 20 years ago.

She has a home in the same town as my sister in Florida.

She grew up minutes from my other sister in Erie, Pa.

      BUT THE MOST ASTOUNDING…

SHE WORKED AS A CHILDREN’S BOOK PUBLISHER FOR OVER 20 YEARS!!!

The wild thing was, that I wasn’t even going to bring up my books, but as our convo came to a close, she asked what else I wanted to manifest in my life & I shared my passion about the books, their living legacy, my scholarship fund (& the life lessons & the audio companions the books encompass). She was so quiet during that share, that I had thought we were disconnected! When she told me of her career in the book world, and how she turned that into producing (also a surprise) and, and, and…WOW…just a wonderful WOW!

She is excited, I am excited, and now…the next steps, and the next, and…

It is truly exhilarating, and utterly surprising. Letting go of the form to cultivate the feeling, the inspiration, and where it comes from…is truly a life changer.

Thank you all for all you share, so that I may listen and learn and show up to play!!! This game is soooooo much more fun!!!
