Hello Zan, I’m reaching out to all the visual artists in the group to team up with me and contribute to Penny’s book.
I wrote a poem and thought of a drawing/painting to completet it. Of course all the visual artist credits would go to you.
Would you be up for that?This is the poem (still thinking about the title):
Under the mango tree at the shore of the lake
It looked like a perfect life.
The dark wooden house,
The spacious terrace held by the trees that had been standing there for decades,
Watching over the gentle waves and the small crocodile that crossed the lake several times a day.It looked like a perfect life.
Behind her, the street ran through the busy village,
All the shops with their carefully chosen handcrafted soaps, essential oils, and clothes,
And all the exotic fruits and veggies she didn’t even know the names of.It looked like a perfect life.
Tropical beaches to the left and to the right, within walking distance,
Drum circles, fire spinners, acrobats,
And the hidden beach that could only be reached at low tide, where people were naked.It looked like a perfect life.
In the photos she sent home and posted on Instagram—
But not inside of her.

Hi Sybille – This is something I’d totally love to play with. I can picture images in my mind…. and have some ideas about what my art might look like. Those are not the same thing. lol But I’m always down to play with other people’s ideas. Easier than my own, of course. Tell me more about what you’re hoping for! One image, or more? Do you have your own ideas about what they’d look like? I have lots of other questions, but let’s start with tell me more and I bet you answer a lot of them. 🙂

That’s great!
I’m not a very visual person so I wouldn’t know what to imagine.
I have been working together with a graphic designer for years and always only just knew what I liked or liked less when I saw it.
But she was the one who did the magic.
My plan B would have been to use a photo. And ofc I could send you these photos if you want.
And if they don’t limit your imagination.
Writing this I feel I think more of one image. But that’s a personal thing. I’m easily overwhelmed by too many visual details 😅 -
