Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

At Genius Catalyst Inc., we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

This policy applies to the Genius Catalyst Cafe website (geniuscatalystcafe.com), the Genius Catalyst app (iOS and Android), the Digital Michael AI service (michaelneill.ai), the Caffeine for the Soul app, and any related services we provide.

1. Who We Are

Genius Catalyst Inc.
23371 Mulholland Drive #131
Woodland Hills, CA 91364
United States

Email: [email protected]

Genius Catalyst Inc. is the data controller for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at the address above.

2. What Data We Collect and Why

2.1 Account Registration

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored in encrypted form). We use this to give you access to our services, manage your purchases, and communicate with you about your account. You can also opt-in for marketing communication as well.

2.2 Purchases & Payments — Website

When you make a purchase on the Genius Catalyst Cafe website, we collect your name, email address, and billing address. Payment card details are processed directly and securely by Stripe â€” we never see or store your full card number. We receive a payment confirmation and a partial card reference from Stripe for order records.

We use WooCommerce to manage our shop and order history.

2.3 In-App Purchases — Genius Catalyst App

The Genius Catalyst app offers purchases and subscriptions through the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). When you make a purchase within the app:

  • Payment is processed directly by Apple or Google — we never see or store your payment card details.
  • We receive a purchase receipt or token from Apple or Google confirming the transaction.
  • We use RevenueCat as a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives your app user identifier, platform (iOS or Android), purchase receipts, and subscription status in order to validate purchases and manage entitlements across devices. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or conversation data. For details, see RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
  • We store your subscription status, entitlement history, and renewal dates in our systems to grant you access to the features you have purchased.

Apple and Google maintain their own records of your purchases independently of us, in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

2.4 Digital Michael Conversations

When you use Digital Michael, your conversation messages are processed to generate AI responses. Each conversation is kept separate and private — it is encrypted by your unique encryption key so no one at Genius Catalyst Inc. can read your conversations as a matter of course.

Your conversation data is stored securely and used only to enable the service to respond to you. It is not used to train unrelated AI systems, sold to third parties, or used for advertising purposes.

Please be mindful that no digital system is completely risk-free, and you share information at your own discretion. We recommend not sharing information you would not want stored (even encrypted) on a third-party server.

2.5 Courses & Programmes (LearnDash)

When you enrol in an online programme or course, we record your enrolment, progress, and completion status. This allows us to give you access to the content you have purchased and to track your progress.

2.6 Subscriptions

If you take out a subscription, we store your subscription status, billing dates, and renewal history alongside your account. Subscriptions purchased on the website are handled by Stripe (see section 2.2). Subscriptions purchased within the Genius Catalyst app are handled by Apple or Google (see section 2.3).

2.7 Contact Forms & Support

When you contact us via a form or by email, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry.

2.8 The Genius Catalyst App

The Genius Catalyst app (iOS and Android) is our standalone app for accessing Digital Michael and related services and managing your account. The app collects the same categories of personal data described in sections 2.1–2.7 above, as applicable to the actions you take within the app.

Additionally:

  • Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the platform’s built-in secure storage and are never transmitted to third parties.
  • Your preferred language and timezone are collected and sent with each conversation request to provide a localised experience.
  • Basic diagnostic information (device type, OS version, app version, screen dimensions, timezone) may be collected when you submit feedback, to help us diagnose issues. This information is not used for advertising.

You can create and permanently delete your account directly from within the Genius Catalyst app (see section 8a).

2.9 The Caffeine for the Soul App

Digital Michael is also accessible within the Caffeine for the Soul app (iOS and Android). When you use Digital Michael through that app, the same conversation data practices described in section 2.4 apply. No additional personal data is collected solely by that app.

Data collected through either app is also subject to the privacy practices of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store respectively. Please review their privacy policies for more information.

2.10 Website Usage & Analytics

We collect standard website usage data — such as pages visited, time spent on site, and general location (country/region) — to understand how people use our site and improve it. This data is aggregated and anonymised where possible. We may use tools such as Google Analytics for this purpose.

2.11 Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and support website functionality. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others are used for analytics. You can manage your cookie preferences through the cookie banner on our site or through your browser settings.

Third-party services we use (such as Stripe, YouTube/Vimeo embeds, and analytics tools) may also set their own cookies. We have no control over these.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the UK or European Union, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract – to fulfil the services you have purchased or signed up for
  • Legitimate interests – to operate and improve our services, prevent fraud, and communicate with you about your account
  • Consent – for marketing communications, where we have asked for and received your consent
  • Legal obligation – where we are required to process data to comply with applicable law

4. Marketing Communications

If you opt in to marketing emails, we will send you updates about our products, events, and content. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly.

We will never sell your contact information to third parties or add you to a marketing list without your consent.

5. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our business, and only to the extent necessary. These include:

  • Stripe – payment processing for website purchases
  • Apple (App Store) – payment processing for in-app purchases on iOS
  • Google (Play Store) – payment processing for in-app purchases on Android
  • RevenueCat – subscription management and entitlement validation for the Genius Catalyst app
  • Email service providers – for transactional and marketing emails
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers – for secure website and data storage
  • Analytics providers – such as Google Analytics, for aggregated usage data
  • LearnDash – for course and programme delivery

All third-party providers are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy law and our data processing agreements.

6. International Data Transfers

Genius Catalyst Inc. is based in the United States. If you are located in the UK or EU, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including reliance on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent protections where required.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Account data – retained for as long as you have an account with us, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of disputes or legal requirements
  • Purchase records (website) – retained for 7 years for legal and accounting purposes
  • In-app purchase records – Apple and Google maintain their own purchase records independently and in perpetuity, in accordance with their privacy policies.
  • Digital Michael conversations – retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all conversation history is made permanently inaccessible by deleting your encryption key.
  • Marketing data – retained until you unsubscribe or request removal
  • Support enquiries – retained for up to 3 years

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access – request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction – ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure – ask us to delete your personal data (the “right to be forgotten”)
  • Restriction – ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Portability – receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection – object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
  • Withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). If you are in the EU, you may contact your local data protection authority.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and share, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise your California rights, please contact us at [email protected].

8a. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your Genius Catalyst account and associated personal data at any time. There are two ways to do this:

  • In the Genius Catalyst app: go to Settings and tap “Delete Account”. You will be asked to confirm your intention before anything is deleted.
  • By web request: file a request at digital.michaelneill.org/account-deletion and we will send you email with further instructions.

Once a deletion request is confirmed, the following data will be immediately and permanently deleted:

  • Your account profile, name, email address, and login credentials
  • Your personal encryption key so all Digital Michael conversation history will be completely inaccessible
  • Everything Digital Michael remembers about you

You will receive an email confirmation when deletion is complete.

Data we are required or unable to delete:

  • Website purchase records (Stripe/WooCommerce) are retained for up to 7 years to meet our legal and accounting obligations. They are kept in a minimal, restricted form and not used for any other purpose.
  • Apple and Google purchase records are maintained independently by Apple and Google in accordance with their own policies. We cannot delete records held by them. To request deletion of your Apple or Google purchase history, contact Apple or Google directly.
  • RevenueCat may retain anonymised or aggregated purchase data after we request deletion of your profile, in accordance with RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy. We will submit a deletion request to RevenueCat on your behalf when your account is deleted.
  • Anonymised record of deletion request to handle disputes about when did you requested/confirmed account deletion and how we handled it.

Important — active subscriptions: Account deletion does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play. To avoid future charges, please cancel your subscription through your device’s subscription settings before requesting account deletion:

  • iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

9. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include encrypted data storage, secure HTTPS connections, and restricted access to personal data within our organisation.

No system is completely secure. If you have reason to believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
