As I prepare to fly home after an amazing “European tour”, I’m feeling grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve met and the rich variety of experiences I’ve had over the past two weeks.
Here are the “stats” from my trip:

While the talks varied in subject from becoming a successful author to transforming lives as a coach to finding the keys to performance to building your business from the inside-out, every one of them was an attempt to point people back to a simple but incredibly easy to overlook fact of life:
| There is a space inside us where we are already perfect, whole, and complete. The moment we touch that space it is as if we have come home to ourselves, no matter how long we have been away. When we rest in the feeling of this space, the feeling of it heals our minds and bodies.
When we operate from the infinite creative potential of this space, we produce high levels of performance, flow, and creative expression. When we sit in the openness of this space with others, we experience a level of connection and intimacy that can be disconcerting until we relax into it and is breathtakingly enjoyable and loving once we do. And when we explore this space more deeply, we find ourselves growing closer and closer to the divine, even if we’re not sure there is such a thing and wouldn’t know how to talk about it if there was. |
In the inside-out understanding, many people refer to this space as “home base” – a part of ourselves that we can learn to both rest in and come from in our lives. This is the essence of coaching from the inside-out – to reintroduce people to this space inside themselves. Once they’ve begun to experience more of their innate health, wisdom, creativity and well-being, we work with them to deepen and stabilize their experience of this space. Finally, we explore together how to operate powerfully and effectively in the world without ever leaving “home”.
Ultimately, knowing we have a permanent address inside of us allows us the freedom to participate fully in the world around us. Because no matter how lost we might get in the apparent troubles and adventures of our lives, we recognize that we’re never more than one thought away from the peace and presence of the space inside.
